The Austrian Cocoon Sportswear GmbH is insolvent.
The responsible regional court for civil law matters in Graz has opened bankruptcy proceedings for the sportswear provider, the creditor protection organization Alpine Creditors Association (AKV Europa) announced on Tuesday. Attorney Bernhard Kämmerer from the law firm Hofmann Kämmerer Rechtsanwälte was appointed as administrator.
At the beginning of August, the sports goods retailer announced on his Facebook page that he was taking “new paths” and clearing out the warehouse. The current economic developments are said to have prompted the company based in Wildon, Styria, to “move entrepreneurially” and reposition itself, the post continues. The Cocoon online shop is offline and the associated website is currently under renovation.
Cocoon was founded in 2004 by managing director Walter Lorentschitsch and has a strong focus on triathlon and multisport.
