The National Football Team will face its rival, Japan, in Belgium tomorrow, in a friendly match, after 21 years. The last fight between Turkey and Japan, which will be rivals for the third time, was played at the 2002 World Cup. The crescent-star team made their mark in the quarter-finals of the World Cup by winning 1-0 in the last 16 rounds played on June 18, 2002.
Ümit Davala scored the goal that brought the national team to the quarter-finals of the World Cup hosted by Japan and South Korea.

Türkiye and Japan have faced each other only twice so far. In the matches, one of which was private and the other official, both teams achieved one victory each with a score of 1-0.
