A body was found during the search for the man who went missing this afternoon during a swimming trip in the Westeinderplassen in Aalsmeer. An investigation must reveal whether it also concerns the missing man.
The body in the water was spotted by a sonar boat around 7:45 p.m. The deceased person was then removed from the water.
The search for the missing man started around 5pm this afternoon after the swimmer was no longer seen. A large-scale investigation was launched, involving the deployment of an ambulance, fire brigade, police, diving team and helicopter.
At the time the swimmer went missing, it was quite busy at the Westeinderplassen. Part of the water was temporarily closed off so that the diving team had space to search for the victim.
