Greece must continue to hope for the Dutch team to make a mistake despite a big win over Gibraltar | Foreign football

Greece took three important points against Gibraltar on Sunday evening. The score was 5-0 at home against the bottom of group B.

Within ten minutes the Greeks scored thanks to Dimitrios Pelkas. From a corner, defender Konstantinos Mavropanos doubled the lead for the home team in the 23rd minute. Before the half-time signal, Taxiarchis Fountas scored the third goal, but this goal was canceled after the VAR concluded that AZ striker Vangelis Pavlidis had been offside earlier in the attack.

After the break, Greece continued where it left off: scoring. Giorgos Masouras and Mavropanos again made it 3-0 and 4-0 respectively. With his second of the evening, Masouras made the final score 5-0 in injury time.

The victory means Greece continues to follow in the footsteps of the Dutch team. Both countries have nine points, but the Dutch team played one game less.

Denmark beats Finland in Group H

Denmark won the European Championship qualifying match against Finland 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. The Danes therefore took over the top position in group H with 13 points from six matches.

The match in Helsinki’s Olympia Stadium had few highlights. After a flat first half, Christian Eriksen was the first player close to scoring shortly after halftime. Finnish goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky responded attentively to the effort of the former Ajax player, who had curled a free kick along the wall to the right corner.

More than fifteen minutes before the end, Hradecky was again of great value to his team by keeping a shot from Christian Nørgaard out of the intersection. The goalkeeper was unable to respond to Højbjerg, Tottenham Hotspur’s midfielder, 5 minutes before the end. The ball disappeared into the left corner of the Finnish goal.
