A total of 13 women have made serious allegations against the Anti-Flag singer.
Justin Sane, former singer of the punk band Anti-Flag, has been accused by several women of rape, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct against minors.
Anti-Flag disbanded in July 2023 after a woman on a podcast accused the singer of a band she unnamed of raping her. Although he was not named, Justin Sane (real name Justin Geever) vehemently denied these allegations in a statement, especially after his name was repeatedly associated with the story in the follow-up reporting and his band subsequently split up. His statement on the case: “I have never had a non-consensual sexual relationship, nor have I ever been told by a woman after a sexual encounter that I had acted in any way without her consent or abused her in any way .” However, the woman from the podcast conversation confirmed in one Rolling Stone reportthat the person she accused was Justin Sane.
Now 12 other women are making similar allegations against the singer. Their non-consensual incidents are said to have taken place between the 90s and 2020. Sane is said to have had a pattern: He allegedly made eye contact with the women from the stage and then approached them after the show. According to the Rolling Stone report, Sane had sex with minors several times, including a 12-year-old, when he was 17.
Some of these sexual encounters are said to have been violent and non-consensual. A woman reports that he allegedly tied her up and then abused her. She filed a police report but was recently informed that they would not prosecute the case. Details about this are currently unknown.
Several of the women accuse the other members of the band of being accomplices. They addressed the allegations in a statement to Rolling Stone: “We trusted everyone associated with the band to maintain a safe and respectful environment. The fact that perpetrators can be anywhere only adds to the importance of those affected sharing their stories…Furthermore, we believe that all perpetrators must pay for their inappropriate actions and be held accountable.” They claim it themselves , her trust was “completely broken” and that she was “disturbed by the effort [sind]”It took to hide this information from them.”
Justin Sane has not yet made any further statement about the allegations.
