Two young men crashed their car into a tree, the driver (18) had been drinking

Two men were injured on Thursday morning around five o’clock after their car crashed into a tree. The accident happened on the Tilburgseweg in Goirle. The co-driver (19) was seriously injured, the driver (18) was slightly injured. Police investigation showed that the driver had probably had too much to drink.

The car came from Tilburg. The driver crashed into a tree just after the viaduct, causing the car to break in half. The road was strewn with debris up to fifty meters away. The engine block was also broken off by the impact.

‘Worrying situation’
The driver was injured but was able to respond. The passenger was trapped in the car after the accident and had to be freed with the help of the fire brigade. He’s in worse shape. “He has been hospitalized in serious condition,” police said.

The Tilburgseweg was closed for two hours for investigation.
