Lancôme x Louvre: the new make up collection

una unprecedented collaboration between Lancôme and the Louvre: a creative inspiration that draws directly from the museum’s collections, creating a dialogue between the nine chosen sculptures and the Global Ambassador of beauty of the French Maison. What do they have in common? Like any statue that tells the story of its femininity, the Muses chosen by the brand also embody choices and values. So that the myth of the past can inspire the future.

Lancôme x Louvre: the new beauty collection

On the one hand the louvre, the most famous museum in the world, and on the other Lancome, the leading French Maison in the beauty sector. From the meeting of these two institutions, a collaboration never seen before is born and which draws on history to look to the future.

A creative journey through the centuries of art history of the Louvre to seek the meaning of Beauty, through the story of women who echo in our times and regardless of the eras, geographies and cultures of the modern world.

The museum’s most emblematic sculptures, from the Victory of Samothrace to the Venus de Milo, are combined with Global Ambassador of the brand, for create a dialogue between past and present.

Beauty is living art

To each goddess her form

For this new collaboration, Lancôme sought creative inspiration by drawing directly from the collections of the Louvre Museum. In particular, nine sculptures have been chosen capable of communicating with today’s women: the Venus of Milo, the Victory of Samothrace, Corinne, Diana of Gabi, the Nymph of the scorpion, Echo, Igea, Hermaphroditus and the Venus of Arles .

In front of the sculptures, the Ambassador Lancome (Zendaya, Amanda Seyfried, Aya Nakamura & model He Con) they express the beauty reflected in the work of art that excites them. A strong, wild, but also magnetic, radiant, brilliant independent beauty.

Lancôme x Louvre: the limited edition collection

Lisa Eldridge translated art into colors, Creative Director of Lancôme MakeUp who created a selection that includes an eye palette, 4 L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte lipstick shades and a skincare product.

There Richelieu Wing “Corinne” Palette with natural and poetic shades, it is inspired by the magical light of the Richelieu gallery and is animated by a technology that guarantees greater chromatic impact and sublimated brilliance.

Each shade is named after a different part of the Richelieu wing and its surroundings; from eyeshadow in the shade of peridot inspired by the Cour Pugetto the light copper of the Cour Carrée; from the marble tone of the Cour Marly, to the pink hue of the Royal Palace. The packaging, on the other hand, is inspired by the white marble of the sculptures.

In order for the lips to tell the mythical stories of Antiquity, Lancôme has created, in collaboration with the Louvre Museum, a L’Absolu Rouge collection, from red to nude, inspired by the four muses selected from the works in the museum.

In the end, the iconic serum Génifique by Lancôme is inspired by the Goddess Igea, a symbol of well-being and the inspiration behind Lancôme’s advanced formula for healthy skin. Génifique’s trio of repairing ingredients – made up of Vitamin Cg, Hyaluronic Acid and 10% Bifidus Prebiotic – is formulated to restore skin’s radiance.
