Werder Bremen used Eintracht Frankfurt in the transfer final sprint and signed a successor for Niclas Füllkrug.
As the Hanseatic League announced on Friday, Rafael Borré is moving to the Weser for a year on loan.
“After Niclas switched to Borussia Dortmund, it was clear to us that we still wanted to do something in attack. We succeeded with Rafael. We are happy that we managed to win him for Werder,” said Clemens Fritz , Werder’s head of professional football.
Coach Ole Werner explained: “Rafael brings a high level of quality to the table. He is a technically well-trained player, as well as an extremely strong runner with an intensive style of play. I’m looking forward to him being able to fully play for us after the international break.”

From Eintracht Frankfurt to Werder Bremen
The 27-year-old Colombian had scored 15 goals and twelve assists in his 92 appearances in all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt and was the Europa League winner with SGE last year. He contributed four goals to the most recent international success of the traditional club.
In addition to Bremen, FC Valencia was also considered a possible target for Borré.
The striker had been sidelined in Frankfurt in recent weeks and stopped training on Thursday so he could talk to other clubs about a transfer.
In addition to Borré, Sydney van Hooijdonk from FC Bologna was recently named as a striker at Werder Bremen.
