After five years, PSV has qualified for the main tournament of the Champions League by beating Rangers 5-1 at home. Club icons Willy and René van de Kerkhof are happy and hope for the best possible draw for their club. “Manchester City and Real Madrid would be nice,” says Willy. “Why should we have no chance? PSV can also beat everyone at home in the Champions League.”
The former PSV vacuum cleaner goes even further in the Willy and René Podcast: “A few years ago, Ajax also reached the semi-finals and won against Real Madrid? We can also grow to that level.”
René thinks his brother is a bit too optimistic. “Willy just stood on one leg and has to stand on the ground with both feet again. “René, however, also hopes for a great opponent. “Barcelona is a nice team. We taught them a nice lesson in 1978 with Cruijff.”
Do not buy!
In principle, René thinks that the third place that entitles him to a follow-up in the Europa League is the highest achievable. Just like Willy, he would like it if FC Antwerp rolled out as one of the opponents on Thursday evening at six o’clock. “Great what Mark van Bommel has achieved there. Would be a nice reunion at PSV. A real chapeau.”
The question is with which selection PSV will enter the Champions League. “As far as I’m concerned, no one is leaving. Not even Sangaré and Bakayoku,” says Willy. Such a Bakayoku knows that he will certainly play here and for PSV he will only be worth more money.”
Brother René is not yet enthusiastic about Chucky Lozano’s imminent return. “In any case, you should not buy a 28-year-old player for 15 million. Certainly not if Bakayoko stays.”

This weekend, the club can focus on the competition again when the Brabant derby against RKC Waalwijk is on the program. René sees it sunny. “When I look at the program, PSV can be six to eight points apart from Ajax and Feyenoord.” The brothers spew even more optimism in the new podcast.
