This is how the hellish evening in the Apple Store Amsterdam went | Inland

Totally unexpected, the hostage (44) ran out

AMSTERDAM – An armed hostage situation in the Apple Store on Leidseplein held the capital in its grip on Tuesday evening. The predicament, which lasted almost six hours, was stopped by a force majeure of the police and the terrorist unit DSI, by hitting the hostage-taker, a 27-year-old Amsterdammer, with a police car. Shortly before that, a hostage, a 44-year-old British customer, ran away from the threat, risking his own life.
