The whole of Bonheiden reflects on the sudden death of 20-year-old chiro leader Mieke Verwaest. Her lifeless body was found in a ditch next to the roadway on Sunday. It may be a tragic accident, but an autopsy and toxicological investigation should provide more clarity. In the meantime, the municipality opened a mourning register.
