An award for those who support women in healthcare

THEthe world of public health is driven by women, who account for almost 70 percent of employees in this sector. But if you look at the leadership positions in healthcare companies, the female presence in our country stops at 20-30 percent.

To promote the gender equality in access to senior management the Association of Women Leaders in Health has created the Leads Awarda recognition to enhance the best projects that promote female professional growth in the healthcare context.

Equal leadership in healthcare

The competition, now in its second edition, is open to all accredited public and private entities, including the third sector. It will be possible to submit the application online on the portal Womenleaderinsanita.com until 29 September 2023. The awards ceremony will be held on October 26, 2023.

During the event, all the organizations that have obtained the will also be awarded certification of gender equality in the workplace, introduced by law 162 of 2021 and envisaged by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, to overcome the wage gap between men and women. The Association, together with the Luiss business school, in 2022 established a Observatory on gender equity in healthcare leadership which maps the presence of women at the top of the healthcare supply chain and disseminates and develops good practices for gender equality in managerial positions.
