On Saturday, January 8, Moscow residents will experience a sharp cooling of 10-11 degrees, which will be accompanied by a noticeable jump in atmospheric pressure. About it TASS said the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand.

“On January 8, an interesting process begins. The atmospheric pressure will sharply rise, from Thursday it will rise by 20-25 mm Hg. Art., and the temperature, on the contrary, will drop sharply. At night it will be 10-14 degrees below zero, and during the day – from 5 to 10 degrees below zero. Oh, how it gets colder, as the temperature will immediately drop by 10-11 degrees, ”he said.

At the same time, according to the meteorologist, until the end of the New Year holidays Muscovites will have “good winter weather”. “Nighttime temperatures will be about minus 10 degrees, and daytime – minus 5-7 degrees. Good winter and comfortable weather will be until the end of the holidays, ”he said.

Earlier, the chief specialist of the Moscow meteorological office, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, told RBC that on Wednesday, January 5, Muscovites would expect temperatures down to minus 1-3 degrees. According to her, the warming will not last long (one or two days), and starting from January 8, “real Christmas frosts” will return to the capital.
