SSC Napoli beat Frosinone Calcio in Serie A on Matchday 1 thanks to Victor Osimhen. Inter and Juventus were also allowed to celebrate.
Champion Napoli were initially behind at promoted Frosinone Calcio and then won 3-1 (2-1). Abdou Harroui (7th, penalty kick) gave Frosinone the lead on Saturday (08/19/2023) before Matteo Politano (24th) equalized. Osimhen then ensured Napoli’s victory, scoring just before the end of the first half and late in the second (42’/79′).
Giacomo Raspadori had previously scored for Napoli, but his goal was disallowed by VAR’s decision (35′).
Lautaro Martinez makes Inter celebrate
Goalkeeper Yann Sommer celebrated a successful Serie A debut at Inter Milan. The Swiss, who switched from FC Bayern to Inter, kept his box clean in the 2-0 (1-0) home game against AC Monza.
Argentinian world champion Lautaro Martinez (8th/76th) scored twice for Inter in San Siro. Ex-Bremer Marko Arnautovic, who had returned to Milan, provided the template for the 2-0.
Former U21 international Yann Aurel Bisseck, who came from Aarhus for seven million euros, came on shortly before the end and is the tenth German to play for Inter in Serie A. Ex-Gladbacher Marcus Thuram also made his debut as a joker.
Clear victory for Juventus
On Sunday, Juventus Turin followed up with a smooth 3-0 (3-0) win at Udinese Calcio. Federico Chiesa gave La Vecchia Signora the lead in the 3rd minute, Dusan Vlahovic increased it to 2-0 in the 20th minute. Adrien Rabiot scored the final score in injury time in the first half.
While Juve then only managed the clear lead, the Friulani tried a lot again and also had a few chances with a total of 18 deals. In the few dangerous attempts, however, Juventus keeper Wojciech Szczęsny was always on the spot.
