A 40-year-old man from Emmen has been arrested for placing a suspicious package at the Scheper Hospital in Emmen. This was announced by the police this afternoon.
A package was indeed found. The police do not yet want to say what exactly was in the package, because it is information that only the perpetrator can know. It is clear that the contents were not dangerous.
The suspect is still in custody and is being questioned, police said.
The package was reported around eleven o’clock Friday evening. Several emergency services came to the hospital, and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service of Defense examined the package.
