Lichtfeest delivers spectacle in Lissewege

The party is alive among the villagers who contribute numerously to the annual light spectacle. The Lisseweegs Vaartje and the construction of the church tower were the guiding principles for this edition. The two-kilometre course took visitors to nine locations.

A striking work was on display in the historic church. Inside, a giant pendulum swinging back and forth called ‘the bullet is through the church’. The Ghent light artist Reinhout Hiel came up with the creation. This year’s impressive works of art are very different from the first subdued Light Festival, where residents of Lissewegen put out candles at the time.
