NFL coaches concerned after injury drama: “Scary situation”

Isaiah Bolden’s serious injury ended the preseason game between the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots prematurely. The NFL professional had to be hospitalized immediately. The coaches of both teams then expressed their condolences.

Just under ten minutes before the end of the game, Patriots defender Bolden fell to the ground after a collision and lay there motionless. The doctors then examined him and were able to determine that the person concerned felt “feelings in all extremities”. Nevertheless, Bolden was transported from the field on a stretcher.

Those responsible ended the match immediately, but could not dispel the dismay at what had happened.

“Obviously the game ends very scary,” Packers head coach Matt LeFleur told The Athletic. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Isaiah Bolden and his family. It’s a scary situation that you never want to experience in our game.”

Due to the tragic injury, it was also not possible for the 43-year-old to draw a sporting conclusion after the game. “We’ve done a lot of good things in the last few days but it’s hard to think about it. I just hope the young man is ok,” LaFleur said.

NFL: Bill Belichick describes game abandonment as “right decision”

Bill Belichick, head coach of the Patriots, also admitted that his head was completely with his protégé. “We will all pray for Isaiah,” said the NFL veteran and advocated abandoning the game.

“I appreciate the way the league handled it. I think it was the right decision,” Belichick said.

Isaiah Bolden stayed overnight at a Green Bay hospital for observation. The Patriots plan to provide an update on the cornerback’s health later on Sunday.
