The 3rd place of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, hosted jointly by Australia and New Zealand, was Sweden, beating Australia 2-0.
The 3rd place match in the 9th FIFA Women’s World Cup was played in the stadium of the same name as Brisbane, Australia.
Sweden, which achieved its best score in the organization by playing the final in 2003, faced the host Australia, who could not see beyond the last 16 rounds until this tournament.
Sweden won the match with Rolfo’s penalty kick in the 30th minute and Aslani’s goals in the 62nd minute, once again finishing the Women’s World Cup in 3rd place after 1991, 2011 and 2019.
