Manuel Neuer is back on the training ground, while Thomas Müller will be absent from Bayern Munich for the time being: As the German record champions announced on Monday afternoon, the 32-year-old attacker tested positive for the corona virus.
He is doing well, said FC Bayern. It is Müller’s second infection – on February 11, 2021, the virus was first detected in the 2014 world champion during the Club World Cup in Qatar.
“Unfortunately, I tested positive for the corona virus again in February,” said Müller in a video that he shared on Instagram: “A sad anniversary, I’m fine so far, I’ll recover well for the week and be back quickly in business – at least I hope so.”
Meanwhile, national goalkeeper Neuer ran for the first time on Monday, 15 days after his knee operation, at the training ground on Säbener Straße.
The 35-year-old surprisingly had to undergo surgery on the medial meniscus of his right knee the day after the game against RB Leipzig (3-2) on February 5. It is still unclear when Neuer can play again.
