On Sunday, forest fires also broke out on the Greek islands of Corfu and Evia, while Rhodes has been ravaged by persistent forest fires for a week. According to the Greek authorities, the largest evacuation in the history of the country has been initiated on the latter island. Some 19,000 tourists were evacuated, including more than 100 Belgians. Sunweb, Corendon and TUI have decided to cancel all flights for the coming days.
