The trade fair organizer Messe Frankfurt and the denim sourcing fair Kingpins are entering into a strategic partnership. This cooperation strengthens the future of the denim industry, Messe Frankfurt announced on Wednesday. In addition, the German trade fair organizer, as a shareholder in Kingpins, is expanding its portfolio to include another internationally renowned event, particularly in the denim sector.
As a partner of Messe Frankfurt, Kingpins joins the portfolio of the German organizer, which currently consists of 50 international trade fairs. The denim trade fair will continue to operate independently, but will be strengthened by the network, expertise and resources of Messe Frankfurt. Messe Frankfurt’s extensive experience and resources will be combined with the unique expertise of The Kingpins Show to expand the industry’s global reach and influence, the statement said. The synergy between the two companies promises exhibitors and visitors expanded business prospects, increased market presence and accelerated industry innovations.
Denim and sustainability in focus
The partnership also focuses on sustainability, as it aims to drive positive change in the denim industry. To this end, responsible production methods should be encouraged, circular economy initiatives promoted and sustainable procurement practices supported.
“Since the day we started Kingpins in 2004, one day we wanted to sell our fair or partner with Messe Frankfurt – we were never ‘fair people’, we were ‘industry people’, while Messe Frankfurt was an 800-year-old exhibition company that has all the knowledge, technology and data that you need,” says Kingpins Founder and CEO Andrew Olah. With the partnership, a dream has now come true.
It has not been announced how many shares Messe Frankfurt has secured for itself in the denim trade fair
