He could never really meet the expectations of himself as an internal record transfer, now his time at Hertha BSC could finally end. Lucas Tousart is said to be about to move to city rivals 1. FC Union Berlin of all places.
At least that’s what a recent report by “kicker” says. According to information from the specialist magazine, Tousart is said to be at the top of the transfer list for the Irons, who will not start in the 2nd Bundesliga like Hertha in the coming season, but will be first-class and even in the Champions League.
Toursart was recently one of several Hertha professionals who did not go to the summer training camp in Zell am See in Austria with the big entourage. Instead, he keeps fit with other sales candidates from the Bundesliga relegated team in Berlin and works in the old lady’s so-called “Training Group II”.
Toursart once cost Hertha BSC 25 million euros
As the “kicker” report goes on to say, negotiations between the two clubs and with the players are said to be well advanced. The talks are probably already so concrete that a fixed message could be made in the coming days.
The transfer fee for the 26-year-old, who was once signed by Olympique Lyon for the club’s record transfer fee of 25 million euros, is said to be between six and seven million euros. However, this already includes possible bonus payments.
Mainly because of his high salary, Tousart probably has no future at Hertha BSC in the second division. He played for the Berliners a total of 89 times in the Bundesliga, scoring eight goals.
The fact that the midfielder could now start his new start in the German football upper house with the city rivals of all places is logically explosive. So far, the player himself, who moved to Berlin in the summer of 2020, has not yet commented on the speculation about himself.
