Almugera Kabar is one of the greatest talents in BVB’s junior division. So it’s no wonder that other clubs would also like to see the left-back in their ranks. FC Barcelona is apparently serious now.
According to “Bild”, the Catalans are said to have asked about the 17-year-old. Even more: Allegedly there are even “talks about a possible change” of the newly crowned U17 European champions to Barca.
According to reports, Kabar will initially be used in the second team there, but will already be in the focus of the professional team.
The shoe is known to pinch at the back left in Barcelona, so the teenager seems to be looking for a quick promotion to coach Xavi’s star ensemble.
However, BVB is not wasting any thought on letting Kabar go, they say. So far, no inquiries have been received by the Westphalians. The German-Libyan is currently contractually bound until 2025.
At Borussia they have big plans for Kabar: The defensive jewel is to appear in the new season for the Dortmund U19s, who are coached by Mike Tullberg. Numerous talents have already made the leap to the pros under the Dane.
BVB youngster Kabar impresses with its robustness
Not least because of his impressive physique, Kabar is considered an exceptional phenomenon. The 1.81 meter tall left foot is described by “Bild” as “extremely robust”, and his cross runs are already feared.
The youngster has played in 30 competitive games for BVB’s U17s in all competitions. He collected six goals and four assists.
In 2019, Kabar from Hamm came to the black and yellow. As a child of the region, he is viewed as a potential identification figure. One more reason for the decision-makers in Dortmund to categorically reject any advances from other clubs.
