On July 15, protests against the Berlin band took place during the Rammstein concerts in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.
As part of the Rammstein concerts in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, protests against the band broke out on the first of three concert days on July 15. The reason for this is the Allegations of abuse against singer Till Lindemann.
Around 400 people were registered for the demonstration. However, the actual number of participants may have been lower. Initially, there was talk of 150 people — the Tagesschau speaks of 250 demonstrators. There should not have been any violent riots – Rammstein fans and demonstrators were separated from each other by the police with barriers.
“We are here to make a mark. Against patriarchy and sexualised violence. We believe the victims and show solidarity with them. If you don’t do that, you support the patriarchal system. Rammstein fans – protection against perpetrators!” the organizers of the protest said on Twitter.
The Rammstein fans also feared that there could be disruptive actions during the concert. A fan account therefore had some tips ready for the audience of the concert to identify possible disruptors: “Talk to the fans who are around you, at the entrance as well as inside at your seat. Ask them a little bit about Rammstein to find out if they’re really fans. If someone or several people behave strangely in the stadium, go to security! We stick together. And nobody can stop us!” This call, however, caused ridicule on the internet.
