Archer Mike Schloesser from Nuth has won gold twice at the European Indoor Championships.
He won the final in the compound section, both individually and with the team.
Flawless
Just like in the semi-final, Schloesser faced a Frenchman as an opponent in his individual final. Against Jean-Philippe Boulch, Schloesser made the first difference in the second end. Schloesser was clear with three tens, while Boulch shot a nine. In the next end, both Schloesser and Boulch both scored a nine, keeping the Limburger in the lead. He held onto the lead and went on to win 149-148.
Team
On Friday evening, Schloesser already won the team final together with Sil Pater and Max Verwoerdt against Turkey. The Dutch made the difference in the last end. Where the Netherlands only shot a nine and the rest only tens, Turkey shot a nine twice. As a result, the Dutch men won 236-235.
It is not the first two European Championship titles for Schloesser. The archer already had two on his record.
