Six German men have been arrested on the island of Mallorca on suspicion of the gang rape of a German woman. This was announced by the local police on Friday. The men allegedly assaulted the woman in a hotel room in the night from Thursday to Friday.
Initially there were five men, but now the sixth suspect has also been arrested. The latter would have met the young woman in a club on Thursday evening and would have taken her to his hotel room, where they had sex by mutual consent. Then his German friends joined them. They allegedly raped the woman while others watched, said a spokesman for the Spanish police.
The woman managed to escape from the room and, with the help of the hotel reception, informed the police, who were able to arrest the German men at around 3:40 am. It is still unclear whether the sixth man who met the woman was present during the alleged rape. He was later apprehended.
