From brass music to Bach, from theater to art and from curlews to food forests; 57 Drenthe projects in the field of culture and nature management will jointly receive almost 160,000 euros from the Prince Bernhard Cultuurfonds Drenthe.
This is the second subsidy round of this year from the Drentse Cultuurfonds. In the first round, more than 163,000 euros were divided among 43 projects. The projects that can claim the fund are all initiatives of foundations and associations of amateurs and volunteers.
Among the nature projects, the Grauwe Kiekendief Knowledge Center Akkervogels Foundation, among others, receives a contribution for the research project into the curlew. The breeding bird is having a hard time, but Drenthe still has an estimated 500 to 800 breeding pairs. The foundation conducts research into the curlews by fencing the territory and equipping the curlews with transmitters so that they can be followed to monitor survival. Channels can be purchased with almost 7,000 euros from the culture fund.
Another initiative that receives almost 13,000 euros in support is the Association of Drentse Food Forests for the Design your own food forest project. This project encourages people to create a food forest. The association hopes that eventually a string of food forests will be created throughout Drenthe. The subsidy for the food forests is the highest contribution in this subsidy round.
In the cultural sector, among others, the Danspaleis Foundation will receive 10,000 hours. That’s for the project Dance your fit on peat and sand. From July, a dance afternoon will be organized at various places in Drenthe to bring the elderly together with dancing and music.
The X Awareness Foundation can count on 10,000 euros for the project Dark Wizard. From December, participants in Meppel can participate in a theater production with game elements. The participants take on the role of the main character and determine where the story goes. The live game lasts three hours and the scenes are different for each participant.
The Drents Schildersgenootschap will also receive 10,000 euros for the project Brook in the picture. In addition, the artists want to capture the entire Drentsche Aa on canvas. ROEG! made the following report about the art project.
