Alex Galchenyuk’s contract with the Coyotes didn’t last long.

NHL forward by Alex Galchenyuk, 29, his third stint on the Arizona Coyotes payroll lasted less than two weeks. The team announced on Thursday that it will get rid of the player by placing him on the waivers list.
The reasons for canceling the contract signed 12 days ago are in the dark for the time being, because the Coyotes said in their short announcement that they refuse to comment. ESPN insider Greg Wyshynski wrote after the news that it would be about problems outside the rink.
Galchenyuk’s career in the NHL, considered a top prospect, has been on the decline for the past three years. In 2012, the player who was booked as the third player started strongly in the Montreal Canadiens and in a couple of years became a reliable scorer of more than 40 points.
From the 2019–2020 season onwards, Galchenyuk has not come close to the same reading. The last season was one of the most difficult in his career, as he mainly played in the AHL as a contract player with the Colorado Avalanche. He entered the Avalanche lineup for 11 games and did not get any power points.
