VILNIUS (dpa-AFX) – EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has encouraged Ukraine to carry out further reforms. On the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius on Wednesday, she named the fight against corruption and the strengthening of institutions as tasks where the EU could continue to provide support. The pace of reforms in Ukraine is impressive, even though the country is fighting back against Russia. “And these basic prerequisites for the reforms apply both to accession to the European Union and to NATO. We can provide intensive support here,” said von der Leyen. The EU is also helping boost production of ammunition to help Ukraine and replenish stocks in EU countries.
