On Sunday morning around 4:30 a.m. there was a fire in a single-family house on Eichborndamm in Berlin-Reinickendorf in the Wittenau district.
The house, which is actually empty, was already completely filled with toxic smoke gases when firefighters arrived.
The firefighters found two unresponsive people during the extinguishing work. They put the people in ambulances and immediately started resuscitating them.
Several emergency doctors and paramedics fought for the lives of the people for almost an hour – but in vain! Neither survived the severe smoke inhalation.
The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly. It is not yet known what exactly caught fire in the house.
The Eichborndamm had to be completely closed for several hours for the extinguishing and rescue work. A fire department must now determine how the two people died.
