The wealth rate in Berlin is currently 9.2 percent and affects capital city dwellers who have more than 3802 euros net per capita at their disposal. Is that really rich?
Income wealth means you have 200 percent of the median income every month. In the state of Berlin it means twice the net amount of 1901 euros, i.e. 3802 euros/month.
“I think that’s a very decent income, which you can only achieve in Berlin if you’ve studied the right thing. Medicine, business administration, engineering,” says Alexander Kraus (52) from the Taxpayers’ Association. And: “Whether you feel rich is a matter of taste. It also depends on how much wealth you have, whether the house, car, etc. have been paid for or whether you still have loans.”
By the way: The number of income millionaires has doubled in Berlin within a few years. According to figures from the Berlin Finance Senate, there were at least 990 based on the 2018 tax return.
