The record champion feared this “problem” with Lucas Hernández

After four changeable years, the liaison between FC Bayern and Lucas Hernández will end in the near future. The German record champions probably had reservations about the French defender when they signed in the summer of 2019.

According to “Bild”, there were already rumors in Munich about Hernández’ extreme susceptibility to injury and it was recognized that this could become a “problem”.

The fears came true: the 27-year-old, for whom FC Bayern had transferred the record amount of 80 million euros to Atlético Madrid at the time, was repeatedly absent with minor and major injuries.

At the World Cup in Qatar last winter, Hernández suffered a cruciate ligament rupture that put him out of action for the entire second half of the season.

He had previously spent a long time in the Munich hospital because of a torn ligament in his ankle, a torn meniscus or a torn muscle bundle.

Hernández only had the status as an undisputed regular player and top performer during his time at Bayern.

FC Bayern: bosses “disappointed” by Lucas Hernández

In the meantime, the tablecloth between the professional and his current employer has apparently been cut a bit.

“Sport1” recently reported that those responsible at FC Bayern were “disappointed” with Hernández because he initially toyed with a contract extension, but then decided to move to Paris Saint-Germain.

According to media reports, the deal is currently on the home straight. Hernández is said to have already completed the medical check at PSG despite his many physical ailments in recent years. The official confirmation of the change for a transfer fee of around 45 million euros should be forthcoming.

FC Bayern already has a successor for Hernández on the line: South Korean Min-jae Kim is to move to Munich from the Italian champions SSC Naples for 50 million euros.
