Michael van Gerwen has received a suit from Raymond van Barneveld in Trier, Germany. The number 3 in the world still led 2-0, but saw ‘Barney’ come back strongly. In the end it became 3-6.
Due to the stunt, not Van Gerwen but Van Barneveld is in the eighth finals of the European Tour match. Van Gerwen speaks of a disappointing evening. “I didn’t show my best game,” he writes on Twitter, after which he congratulates Barney.
Van Barneveld and Van Gerwen played against each other three times in the past two years, Van Gerwen always won.
