Historical decisions from FIFA continue to come. Finally, FIFA took action to prevent one-inch offside positions.
According to the new offside rule, if the player’s whole body is in front of the defense line, the offside flag will be raised. Offside will not count if only the knee or shoulder is forward.
The rule will be applied first in Italy and Sweden. In case the desired results are obtained from the application, the new rule will be valid all over the world.
It is stated that the aim of FIFA is to make football more watchable with this rule.
