drs. MR (Maarten) Schurink will become secretary-general at the Ministry of Defence. The Council of Ministers has approved the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment will take effect on 21 August 2023.
Maarten Schurink has been Secretary General at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations since March 2018. Before that, he was chairman of the Board of Directors of the Social Insurance Bank. He previously held the position of municipal clerk in Utrecht and Dordrecht. Before that, he worked at Berenschot and was a policy officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. Maarten Schurink studied Governance and Organization and Political Science at the Catholic University of Nijmegen.
This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
