It was previously shown that June 2023 was the warmest month since measurements began in 1833. “It is quite striking if we look at the weather picture of 2023 so far. First there was that pretty wet and cold spring where we had to wait so long for summer weather. And now in a few weeks time that has suddenly turned completely into warm summer weather with even a heat wave of 10 days and drought,” explains David Dehenauw. “You immediately see the consequences of climate change. Extremes are increasing, we are constantly falling from one extreme to the other.”
