More and more women are getting gestational diabetes

The number of women developing diabetes during pregnancy has risen sharply in recent years. Gestational diabetes is now diagnosed in 4,000 women every year, according to an analysis by Diabetes Liga based on data from the Flemish Study Center for Perinatal Epidemiology. They also join the Zoet Zwanger project more often, which monitors these women further because there is a risk that they will develop diabetes.
