The incident ended with a fizzle. The animals survived and were taken in by a shelter. But it is clear to the animal ambulance that the peak season of pet dumping has started.

“Most kittens are born in the summer, so there are also the most dumps,” says animal ambulance Brabant North-East. “People don’t have their kittens neutered, so they are sometimes ambushed by the kittens in the summer.”

“People don’t understand the responsibility that comes with having a pet.”

According to an employee of the animal ambulance, owners are often not well prepared. “They don’t understand the responsibilities that come with having a pet,” she explains. “When a new litter comes into their house, they can’t handle it.” Instead of looking for a reasonable solution, the critters are sometimes dumped.

The kittens and the mother cat are now in safe hands again. No tips have been received yet on this case. The cats are doing well given the circumstances. “It ended with a fizzle.”

Less than a day after the dumping in Den Bosch, a dumping in Tilburg followed on Saturday evening. There were two adult cats and two kittens left in a crate. The cats suffered a lot from the heat.

These cats would have been dumped by someone driving a gray Daihatsu. A license plate is known and the police are investigating further. The cats were brought to the animal shelter in Tilburg.
