Christopher could be on the verge of extinction after 17 years.
Christopher Kane, the brand of the designer of the same name, is ceasing its operational activities for the time being.
The board of Christopher Kane Ltd has hired FTS Recovery as insolvency practitioners, the company confirmed on Wednesday when asked by FashionUnited. The most important shareholders have already been informed about the project. The industry magazine Women’s Wear Daily had previously reported on it.
The difficult decision was made to give the company enough time to implement a rescue plan. Accordingly, the brand is looking for investors to refinance existing debts, or buyers.
The news comes four years after the company went back into private ownership. From 2013 to 2018, luxury goods conglomerate Kering was the majority stakeholder in the Christopher Kane brand.
