Amazone Emmelie Scholtens (Onnen) has made a strong comeback after her injury with the stallion Indian Rock in the Grand Prix of Rotterdam.
At the beginning of February, Scholtens seriously injured her knee. She has been training at home for some time now and that resulted in a nice third place on Thursday.
Scholtens is nevertheless still recovering and that she has been training again since the beginning of this month. “On the one hand, I am very happy with this result. The piaffe and passage parts were in my opinion, just like the pirouettes, very strong, but on the other hand we also made the necessary mistakes. For example, we made a mess of the changes and we also had a tact error in the extended trot.”
Lots of appearance
The big advantage of the approved stallion Indian Rock is that he has a lot of charisma and knows how to impress in walk, trot and canter. At the beginning of September, the European Dressage Championships will be held in Riesenbeck, Germany. “I went to Rotterdam with nothing in mind. That’s because I’m still in full rehabilitation, but it’s started to itch now, “said the rider. That seems logical, because both Marlies van Baalen (with Go Legend_) and Hans Peter Minderhoud (with Invictus ) finished in the tail of the standings. As a result, the Dutch foursome is now sixth of seven countries.
Cornelissen and Luiten
In the morning hours, Adelinde Cornelissen (Beilen) and Fleau de Baian triumphed – just like the day before in the Grand Prix – in the national Grand Prix Special, with which she emphatically put herself in the eye of the national coach. Marten Luiten (Winschoten) was also successful with Fynona and won the Grand Prix competition for U-25 riders with considerable force majeure.
