FRANKFURT (Dow Jones) — In view of the expected strong market demand for green hydrogen, another company at Thyssenkrupp Nucera has reserved water electrolysers with a total output in the high three-digit megawatt range. After the Swedish H2 Steel, this is the second reservation agreement that has been concluded, the Thyssenkrupp subsidiary in Dortmund announced, which is to be listed on the stock exchange shortly. The company is from North America, but Nucera did not give names or details.
North America is seen as a possible driver for the hydrogen economy. The market there “will certainly set the global pace in the coming years,” said Christoph Noeres, Head of Green Hydrogen at Nucera. In total, the Company has secured binding contracts for more than 3 gigawatts of alkaline water electrolysis capacity.
