Fête de la Musique in Berlin: All information at a glance

The free event will take place on June 21st at various locations in the capital.

On June 21, the free festival Fête de la Musique will take place in Berlin. 200 concert venues are involved throughout the capital – 34 of them in this year’s partner district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg alone. There will be over 600 performances by artists, bands, street musicians, but also choirs and concert orchestras.

Fête de la Musique 2023: The program

In 2023, Fête de la Musique will bring the music to hospitals and nursing homes for the first time, to give people who are less mobile the opportunity to experience the festival. And the singalong is also making a comeback this year. The Chor-Verband Berlin will start the “Ode to Joy” at 7 p.m. at Heimathafen Neukölln and all Berliners are invited to sing along. The song is intended as a symbolic reminder that the Fête de la Musique is celebrated as a festival throughout Europe.

The highlights include the stages at the Brandenburg Gate and in the Festival Village at the Neptunbrunnen with a program that is implemented in cooperation with the Special Olympics World Games, the world’s largest inclusive sporting event.

You can find all the collected information about the Fête de la Musique on the Promoter website.

As in previous years, in 2023 the festival will once again be working together with the association “Handiclapped – Kultur barrierefrei eV”. According to the press release, the experience should be inclusive and accessible to all. Another effort of this year’s event is the Greener Fête de la Musique program. This should collect data that can be used at future cultural events to make them more sustainable.
