‘RTL 4 had already removed Peter Gillis from the tube!’

Frank Jansen, known from the former reality duo Frank & Rogier, thinks that RTL 4 would have chosen to remove Peter Gillis from the tube. “Other norms and values.”

John de Mol arouses more and more incomprehension with the fact that holiday park villain Peter Gillis is kept on the screen at all costs. He now has ten reports of assault hanging on his pants, but John keeps saying it’s a private matter. That whole SBS 6 soap revolves around the person Peter Gillis, but this is a private matter?! A gotcha.

Norms and values

It can also count on little understanding from fellow reality star Frank Jansen. Before the controversial divorce from Rogier Smit, he worked for both SBS 6 and RTL 4 in a short time. “SBS 6 probably makes that choice because they don’t have enough programs. I have a nice format lying around, so they can call me,” he says in the Weekend.

RTL has the policy to remove discredited stars from the tube until there is more clarity. “SBS 6 is a completely different channel than RTL. SBS 6 is really for Jan, Piet and Klaas,” he says. “SBS 6 has different standards and values than RTL.”

Intelligent viewers

Frank doesn’t feel so at home with those SBS people. “I sometimes said in meetings: ‘We need to add some more content. Then I was told: ‘But why then?’ Well, I also have intelligent viewers, people who think a little further. I therefore feel more at home with RTL, which is less popular.”

Frank himself would have long since chosen to take Peter off the screen. “Guys with loose hands are terrible, they should not exist. (…) If someone has loose hands, that is not civilized. That is actually impotence. But SBS 6 apparently has nothing else.”
