Much of southwestern France was shaken by an earthquake tonight. According to the first reports, the epicenter was about 30 kilometers east of the port city of La Rochelle. Initially, there was a force of 5.8 on the Richter scale, but that has since been adjusted to 4.9. Wim, who lives in the area, testifies to HLN: “It was a very strange feeling.”
