Wilfred Genee would think it would be a good idea if Matthijs van Nieuwkerk would give his sorry interview in Today Inside. And not at Coen Verbraak. “That’s not surprising.”
It seems that Matthijs van Nieuwkerk is eager to return as a television star. It is now clear that he is having conversations with Coen Verbraak, known from Kijken in de Ziel, about a major sorry interview. Who is not so enthusiastic about that is Wilfred Genee. He doesn’t really find it surprising.
Own shop
Wilfred tells in the morning show of Radio 538 that he also thinks the sorry interview with Matthijs is something for Today Inside. “I would have found it strong, but he now opts for… What is that man’s name? Coen Verbreak it is, yes. Great interviewer by the way, but that is of course the own shop.”
It’s a bit of old-boy currant bread, Wilfred thinks. “They are still friends, I read. He also visited him, so yes… Maybe he feels better about it, Matthijs.”
VI right stage
Matthijs should choose VI, says Wilfred. “I think it would have been the podium. You can see that with the people who pass by every now and then: Hugo de Jonge, Mark Rutte. I do think it would have been surprising. Moreover, he would also be protected, because Johan is of course completely in camp Matthijs, isn’t he? So that will be okay.”
According to Wilfred, it is not strong that Coen and Matthijs have already spoken several times. “It comes down to that a little bit. The angel is out now. What I always like about an interview is that you can surprise someone. That will not really happen now, I think, because they already know exactly what will be discussed.”
Always welcome
If Matthijs changes his mind, he can still call Wilfred. “He is always welcome, but so is everyone. The funny thing is: hardly anyone wants to come. That is very strange.”
