The talk show Marcel & Gijs has sunk to a new low due to football: only 280,000 people watched it yesterday. Fortunately, the ‘cowardly’ duo has covered themselves, says juice-Yvonne.
Marcel & Gijs is not a mega flop, but it also equals everything but the success of Today Inside. Often about 400 thousand people watch, but yesterday there were 280 thousand (6 percent market share). They therefore faced the match of Orange against Croatia (2-4) watched by 1.9 million people (45 percent market share) on NPO 3.
Quasi casual
It is the lowest score so far, but it will not affect Marcel van Roosmalen and Gijs Groenteman. They act as if they don’t care how many people watch their program. And Yvonne Coldeweijer, who has accused both gentlemen of cheating, thinks that is a bit cowardly.
Yvonne in her podcast The Juice Show about the disappointing viewing figures: “This quasi-nonchalant attitude, isn’t it? That didn’t save it, did it? Remember when I said, “They do that to cover themselves in case it’s bad.” Now it’s bad and then they can pretend they didn’t prepare it anyway. As if it doesn’t matter.”
“That’s just cowardly”
She doesn’t like people who act like they don’t care, says Yvonne. “Yes, of course: that is cowardly. I’d rather see someone, like Nadia or something like that, you know, who prepares things so hard and then it’s completely messed up… We still have more respect for that than you being so quasi-casual.”
Actually, no talk show managed to fascinate many viewers yesterday. Eva Jinek did best with 441 thousand viewers (11 percent) on RTL 4, followed by Op1 with 307 thousand viewers (8 percent) on NPO 1.
Leonie not in top 25
It’s a sour morning for Leonie ter Braak: she doesn’t even end up in the top 25 viewing figure with SBS 6’s Children Buying a House (261 thousand viewers and 7 percent). Since she switched to RTL 4 during the recording period, the second half will be of the season presented by Jan Versteegh.
Viewing figure connoisseur Tina Nijkamp writes: “It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a long adventure for Jan because the scores are way too low for that. Jan Versteegh will probably be alone in the Lingo studio for the time being. He has no worries in terms of money (also a lucrative Friends lottery contract), but what will be the next step in his career?”
