Fashion house Valentino is launching a virtual fitting project with technology company Wanna.
Wanna, owned by British fashion retailer Farfetch Limited, runs a virtual try-on app – also known as ‘VTO’ for ‘Virtual Try-On’. Valentino is the first luxury brand to offer VTO on the Wanna Wear app, the company announced on Monday.
In the app, customers can try on men’s clothing from Valentino’s Fall 2023 collection and the ‘ValenTie’ tie using augmented reality (AR) technology. You can also access the relevant Valentino product pages directly from the app.
The Wanna Wear app is available for free on the App Store. Once downloaded, customers enter the virtual fitting room where they can try on a selection of clothing.
“Wanna’s virtual fitting not only allows brands to present their clothes as realistically as possible, but also offers users a novel experience of trying on clothes before buying them online. It’s a second-generation VTO experience, designed exclusively for e-commerce, highly realistic and aimed at luxury brands,” said Sergey Arkhangelskiy, Wanna’s Managing Director.
