Lorenzo Cames, how were the beginnings of the venture?

It all began in the year 2000, when at the Manuel Belgrano municipal school we carried out various projects for the reuse and recycling of materials. From crushing soda cans to using batteries as filler to make cinder blocks. These experiences piqued my interest. Later, at the National Technological University of Buenos Aires, I specialized in Mechanical Engineering. It was during an elective taught by Alejandro Haim, that I had the opportunity to explore the field of renewable energy, marking a turning point in my life.
I started with small projects in my town of San Antonio de Areco, and later I partnered with a college classmate. Since then, we have undertaken great projects that have led us to meet many people and touring extensive regions of our beautiful country.
Two years ago I founded Enera Solar, a company dedicated to promoting small and large-scale renewable energy projects.

What are the services you provide to your customers?

Our services include the installation of solar panels to reduce consumption in homes and industries, the use of solar pumps to provide water for animals or irrigation, and bring energy to homes without access to the electricity grid. This last part is the one that gives me the most satisfaction, since by providing renewable energy in places where there was none before, we change the lives of people who depended on candles, firewood or fuel generators, and we do it in a sustainable way.
The world is currently facing climate challenges, rising prices due to the pandemic and war conflicts, and lack of access to energy in communities. In recent years, the perception of renewable energy has changed dramatically, as prices have fallen and innovative technologies such as monocrystalline panels and lithium batteries have improved the efficiency and viability of these systems.
Dealing with the customer is essential in the renewable energy market. After-sales service is especially important and makes the difference in the success of a company.

At Enera Solar, a two-year warranty is offered on all installations, with replacement
automatic in case of failure and a commitment to minimize any inconvenience for the customer.

What are the objectives that Enera Solar has ahead of it?

Currently, my goal would be that, like what happened to me, many children have the opportunity to see in schools or at home the importance of being a little more sustainable in each action we do. It is not necessary to put panels in your house, but simple actions such as separating recyclable waste from organic waste, taking your bag to the supermarket or using the vehicle less, whether walking or sharing the trip with someone else, are actions that little by little will to change people’s mentality and we will manage to live in a more sustainable world.
