Striker Jordan Larsson will not return to FC Schalke 04 after his loan to FC Copenhagen. As first the Danish newspaper “BT‘ and later the ‘Picture“reported, the clubs have agreed on a permanent transfer of the 25-year-old Swede. According to this, around 2 million euros will flow to the Royal Blues – less than the originally endowed purchase option of 2.5 million, but with a resale participation. As the “Bild” calculates, Schalke will have around one million left after taxes to strengthen the second division squad. The teams have not yet reported completion.
Larsson had terminated his contract with Spartak Moscow last year and switched to Schalke on a free transfer, where he is still under contract until 2025. The Revierklub therefore generates a small transfer plus with the sale. After Larsson didn’t do well in the Bundesliga (eleven games, no goal), the son of Sweden’s football legend Henrik Larsson found his form again in Copenhagen. He scored six goals en route to the double, three of them in the Superligaen championship round and two in the cup semi-finals.
