‘Even home videos score even better!’

It’s almost over for Gordon: one more episode to go and then his last achievement for SBS 6 is probably a fact. “How it’s going? Even home videos score even better!”

Gordon and John de Mol split up with a fight: the TV millionaire says he has been put on the criminal bench by the TV billionaire and he can’t wait to see his contract with SBS 6 expire. At the moment he can be seen every Saturday evening with the program Wat Een Invention, but unfortunately that is yet another flop for the entertainer.

Worse than home videos

The penultimate episode of this Gordon show last night did not exceed 265 thousand viewers and a market share of more than 7 percent. Did he perhaps score well in the commercial target group aged 25 to 54? No, he scored even worse with a market share of 4.3 percent.

Tina Nijkamp, the former channel boss of SBS 6, argues on her analysis channel that this is really not good. “What dramatic numbers for Gordon. It even scores lower than Lachen Om Home Videos at 7 p.m.,” said the viewing figures expert, pointing to the 294,000 viewers that presenter Airen Mylene grabbed with that.

Marieke scored better

Even the Marieke Elsinga flop Alles is Muziek, which was taken off the TV, scored even better, Tina subtly notes. The final of Wat Een Invention is next week. “That is probably also the last time that Gordon can be seen on SBS 6 as a presenter. An adventure that never really worked well.”

She continues: “The programs never really became ratings hits. John de Mol made him do many quizzes and shows devised by Talpa himself and as a jury member in talent shows. And as we know, they always flop on SBS 6 for the past ten years.”

In Bali

We’ve heard very little from Gordon lately. Apparently someone managed to convince him that it really is better to disappear from Instagram if you hate the show media so much.

According to Evert Santegoeds, the entertainer is currently in Bali. “With a girlfriend I understood. He was spotted there by Dutch tourists. He’s a bit adrift.”
